Of Glass and Bourbon

Thought I'd spend a little bit of time today going back to my Hallmark roots. Back in those days, photographing glassware was a daily exercise. It sharpened our awareness of highlights and shadows and it's relationship to our subject.

Here, I decided to explore the best of both worlds to reveal the binal nature of glass.  To make it a little more interesting, I added a wee bit o' bourbon :)

The black you see is a gobo (photogeek jargon for go-between or flag) blocking light from the softbox (the white).  Splinting it down the middle will reveal the dual personality of glass and create an interesting array of geometric patterns.

Pretty funky, huh?
