Cherry Bourbon - Sweet Alternative

Getting ready for the warm weather! I'm a bourbon and scotch drinker - rather, I enjoy a good bourbon or scotch.  With summer upon us (yes, really it is), I decided to get ready and prepare a yummy concoction - Cherry Bourbon.

This idea was sent to me from a good friend in Kentucky.

Take a bottle of real bourbon - read, Kentucky Bourbon - and pour it into an airtight container with a handful of freshly washed cherries.  Wait 4 or 5 days and then sip.  If it's sweet enough for your taste, strain out the cherries and enjoy any which way you want.

I'm a fan of Manhattans and this little beverage hit the spot.  I'm not a big fan of sweet vermouth, so the cherry bourbon offered a perfectly sweet alternative.
