Chasing the Storm [282/366]

There is nothing more boring than a blue sky.

Clouds hung oppresively low over Boston all day today. But, they showed their beauty with striations of tones in ever changing variations. I had to get out and photograph some of it.

This shot was taken at Larz Anderson (my favorite park).  Larz is one of the few places in the Boston area that can give you an unobstructed view of the horizon - if you're willing to get dirty.

I planted myself at the base of a hill and shot upwards towards the crest.  A relatively boring shot, but just then a little girl sprinted into my viewfinder and topped the hill.

To enhance the sky I did two things: I used a polarizer and a red filter. No, not in photoshop. I did it old school, man.  Shoot it right the first time!

But, I need your opinion.  At the beginning of this 366 Project I set a rule that every image was to be square format. This image, I believe, looks better in it's original ratio.  Also, given the girl's size, this image looks amazing when viewed in large format.

Which do you like better?
